Hi there! My name is Sierra and I am a Certified Birth Boot Camp Instructor. I'm a sassy brunette in my early thirties, with a passion for supporting women, babies, and families, especially when it comes to maternity care and childbirth. I'm married to a USMC Veteran, was enlisted in the Army Reserves myself, and care deeply for our military families, past, present and future. You can imagine why the theme surrounding Birth Boot Camp caught my attention. Not only is Birth Boot Camp a fun theme, but also they're seriously the best. I've been in birth work for over a decade and have seen many organizations. The curriculum and support are unmatched, which is ultimately why I chose to certify with Birth Boot Camp

My husband, David, and I have three wild and beautiful children. Hayden is thirteen years old, and her birth is the one that started it all! Carson is five and being my only son, he truly is the wildest. Quinn turns three this Fall and she’s the happiest toddler I’ve ever met. All three of our children were born at home under the care of midwives. Since the birth of my first child in 2008, I have completed the CAPPA Labor Doula Distance Training, a Waterbirth Certification Workshop through Waterbirth International, certified as a Birth Boot Camp Instructor, and have attended a cultural competency workshop through Bastyr University. I've attended numerous local community events surrounding childbirth, breastfeeding and beyond. In March 2019 I joined the Board of Directors for Birthingway College of Midwifery (Portland, OR) as a Board Member. I also previously served as a volunteer for Your Whole Baby as the State Director for Oregon, Washington and Alaska. I have attended about twenty births as a doula in the hospital, birthing center, and home environments. I have experience with full term and tandem breastfeeding, babywearing, cloth diapering and more.

Empowering families during this journey is something I’m very passionate about. I am a huge advocate for individual autonomy and informed consent. Birth is such a transformative time and I draw from experience during each of my own pregnancies, and from the families I have previously assisted; along with my education and experience in volunteer and advocacy work. My goal is for you to walk away well prepared and confident so that you may have a truly amazing experience of your own.

In addition to birth work, I enjoying spending time with my family, hiking in the beautiful Pacific Northwest, crocheting or other creative projects, and catching up on my latest Netflix find. I also like trying new places, coffee, and reading. I strive to strengthen and care for my body daily through movement and exercise and I'm an aspiring minimalist. I am currently serving families in Woodburn and Aurora, Oregon, though my services stretch from the North Willamette Valley to the Greater Portland Metro Area. Please feel free to contact me with any questions.

Until we speak, take care.
